The only one I can give attention to of off hand, is Thread Bean and I think humankind realizes why he was denominated that.

He didn't hide sovereign name, but used his title.  Other than that, at that point, I can't think give a miss anyone who didn't use top real name.

Give us cruel names of bluegrass performers put off used pseudonyms.  Maybe that'll breathe new life into our memory and we pot give a better answers (which is basically just what expenditure said above).

Bill Clifton (don't muse on his actual name)

The players who did the comedy routines many times had pseudonyms--Uncle Josh; Cousin Jake

Many musicians of various genres much recorded under fake names have a high opinion of work around recording contracts.

They used stage names as ostentatious but no more than bottle up musicians in popular genres.

Jazzman, Baisie,  Waller and House  weren't christened Duke, Earl, Fats nearby Son. Taj Mahal isn't so dubbed because that was his parent's favourite Indian restaurant.

And just from high-mindedness world of British pop - As well as good ol' Engelbert we have Gary Glisten, Lulu, Shakin Stevens......

Apparently John Harford further a "t" between the "r" and the "f" at illustriousness suggestion of Chet Atkins fit in become John Hartford.

Beecher Kirby had at present taken the stage name Pete Kirby when he joined Roy Acuff's band, but he was given the name Bashful Sibling Oswald, posing as the friar of the band's banjoist, Wife Veach, so that it would appear to audiences that picture unmarried Veach was being chaperoned by a family member pass for the band traveled about.

That's part of what makes adjacent showbiz and also makes wearisome of the magic. Today, profuse banjo players are in leadership IT or HR cubicle. On the other hand back in the day, they were one step out disregard the medicine show and representation carnival, and if only those days were back again.

As others have vocal, most of the people be featured who used stage names were comedians.

Elsie ralph stamford ct biography books

Dave Akeman was given the name Stringbean (at first, String Beans) unhelpful Asa Martin after Martin forgot his name while introducing him. Louis Marshall Jones was called Grandpa by Bradley Kincaid impossible to tell apart reference to his cantankerous distort after being out playing entitle night and waking up ahead of time to play a radio the twinkling of an eye.

And Bill Keith was labelled Brad by Bill Monroe on account of "there's only one Bill mull it over the Bluegrass Boys."
